One-On-One Coaching With Heather
My mission as a coach is to not only help you achieve your weight and health goals...
... but it’s also to help you fix all the areas of your life that impact your weight and relationship with food—including personal relationships, work, family time, holidays, and the challenges of dieting on weekends—all areas that can be challenges while focusing on losing weight and changing your habits.
Heather’s Coaching Philosophy
What I have realized is that weight issues do not happen in a vacuum. They are a combination of many habits and behaviors we have acquired over time. My coaching philosophy is to help fix the whole person, not just the symptom—which is weight.
We will look at all the areas of your life that are not serving you and ultimately causing you to run headfirst toward the Oreos when you get home from work. We’ll discuss self-sabotage on the weekends and what makes you sit on the couch at night and mindlessly eat while binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix.
Everyone starts out just wanting something simple. They’ll say, “Heather, just tell me what to eat or tell me what exercise plan to do,” but what they don’t see is that there are a ton of reasons and obstacles that will get in their way of executing that plan without proper coaching.
I work with people who know how to diet.
They’ve been on multiple diets. In fact, they could probably all write their own diet book if they wanted to! So, the issue is not a lack of knowledge. The issue is their life is not structured in a way in which they can execute the behaviors necessary to get to their goals.
You live your life rushing from work, to picking up the kids, to just showing up at PTA meetings and one week blurs into the next week. Before you know it, months have passed and you still haven’t achieved what you want to.
Pairing with me as a coach will force you to look at your life differently. We’ll define the systems that are broken and restructure them.
What Can I Expect From Heather As A Coach?
The reason that people struggle with changing their lives on their own is because they’re simply living their lives—not evaluating them. They can’t see the forest through the trees.
As your coach, I’m going to be helping you break out of the ruts and the routines you’re currently in. We’re going to find new ways for you to start making progress in simplifying and streamlining your life.
Coaching will help you see things completely differently. By bringing me on as your partner, we’re going to find what is currently not working for you, make improvements, set new goals, and get you moving forward.
You can continue to do this on your own, but chances are, if you’re like many of the people I work with, you’ve started over multiple times. You’ve probably told yourself, “I’ll start again on Monday, or January 1st, or when the kids go back to school. I’ll have everything under control before vacation or after the holidays.”
And each time you promise yourself that this time it will be different. You promise yourself you’re going to make big changes and you’re going to reach your goals, but then after a few weeks or a few days, you find you are worn out because you’ve bitten off far more than you can chew. Instead of finding out how to make it work on a smaller scale, you quit and repeat this cycle over and over again.
What if we stopped this cycle?
What if we took small changes and layered them on top of other small changes in order to make big progress over time?
What Are Some Of The Issues Heather Can Help Me With?
Some of the issues that I’ve been helping my one-on-one coaching clients with over the years are:
- Creating healthy food boundaries, and similar boundaries for family and friends
- Being happy with where you are now, not the future
- Taking control of your professional life and finding balance
- Improve communication with your spouse and kids and reduce emotional eating
- Changing your view of what Health and weight loss looks like
- Focus on actions and behaviors instead of outcomes
- How to ask for what you need and want without getting frustrated and let down
- How to prioritize time for yourself
- How to cope with emotional and stressful situations without turning to food
- How to enjoy traveling for work and leisure
- How to create healthy meals that everyone in the family will enjoy
- How to eat out and still stay on track with your goals
- How to make fitness a regular habit
How Do I Know If I Need A Coach?
When you get tired of repeating the same cycle over and over again and you’re willing to look at weight loss and health on a deeper level, then coaching is for you! I see people’s health and weight as a physical outcome that stems from many areas being unbalanced and unhealthy in their lives.
Together, we can figure out what these areas are and start to make improvements so you can be healthier and happier today!

What Do Others Say About Heather’s Coaching?
Through the years, Heather has helped hundreds of people take back control over their weight issues. Here’s what a few of them had to say about working with her.
“I feel like I’ve done almost everything! Susan Powter, Jenny Craig, Tops, Atkins, Keto, WW, starvation, vegan, P90X- all of it! I’ve learned from my coaching experience that if my head was in the right place, I could have made any one of those programs work for me. As with all my dieting experiences, I went all in. I focused so much on following a plan and doing it exactly as prescribed, I forgot to include myself. I was so busy working for the plan I forgot to evaluate if that plan worked for me! Heather has taught me how to look for solutions to MY overweight.
With her coaching, I have been able to figure out why I overeat. I’ve been able to identify patterns that do not serve me. I’ve been able to take a really good look at how I approach problems and see that my approach (overly critical, task-oriented) can actually be sabotaging my efforts because they do not make me feel good and they do not matter.
At the end of the day, the plan, the food, the exercise…none of it really matters unless your head is screwed on right. Before coaching, I had stripped threads in my head. No matter how hard I tried to screw my head on right, those stripped threads just made it get stuck. I finally feel like it’s threading easily. Now that my threads are fixed, I can work on screwing this head on right!”

“My goals changed as we unpacked my story. I realized my primary goal was not weight-loss, but to save my life. This may sound like an exaggeration, but I’ve ended up in the hospital in trying to conform to what the military wants me to be. If I had not heard your podcast and started working with you, I would have eventually died or had a much shorter life span because what I was doing was killing my body physically and emotionally.
By making my goal and getting through weigh-ins without spiraling down into the depths of despair, my life has been given back to me. Another goal I did not realize I had until I started working with you was how to handle big-picture time and the rest of my life NOT during weigh-in seasons. I’m still working on it, but I am confident that I will figure it out because of the tools I received from coaching.

“My coaching relationship with Heather has helped in so many ways. First of all, I must say that Heather is truly a caring person who makes you feel that you are not alone. She has had her own struggle with weight loss and knows where you are coming from. Second and very important to me was the one-on-one time with Heather. I had listened to the podcasts and the meetings but for me, the one-on-one time with Heather really got me on track by making me accountable for my actions.
It also gave me the confidence to ask questions that I would have been embarrassed to ask in a group. The time with Heather allowed me to personalize my weight loss journey. That is something missing from any other weight loss program that I had tried and believe me I have tried them all. Heather looks at you as a whole person. Losing the weight is just a small part of the journey. She is concerned about your overall health both mentally and physically.
My one-on-one sessions addressed all of these areas. In addition, at the end of each session, Heather and I agreed on what my goals would be for the next couple of weeks before we talked again. She helped me break the goals down into smaller chunks so that they weren’t so overwhelming. Heather has given me such an incredible gift. She has helped me realize what it will take for me to continue to be successful with my weight. My hot buttons for success are tracking my food and daily exercise. I feel that Heather is always there if I need a refresher or another reality check.
My only regret is that I wish I had contacted Heather much sooner. Truly the cost of my sessions is money well spent for my happiness, my health, and my wholeness. Thank you Heather. You have truly saved my life.”

“I have exceeded my goals because I have been able to maintain my weight at 10 pounds below my Weight Watchers goal weight for the past two months and I feel so much better. With Heather’s help I have also been able to develop some extremely useful tools and strategies for long-term maintenance. While I still would like to lose another 10 pounds, Heather has helped me to appreciate the need to maintain where I am right now for a while.”
