I’m coming to you with a motivational talk, and I want to approach this a little bit differently. A lot of people look at things like six-pack abs and ripped pictures in order to get motivated, but I do something a little unusual that I want to share with you.
My gym is located right next to a dialysis location. I get to my gym at the crack of dawn, I’m talking 5:30 in the morning, and guess what? There are already people in there having dialysis done. I take the time to drive by it every single time, and I wait for the people shuffling back and forth across the road. I do that intentionally because there are certain things that are outside of our control.
We can’t guarantee what our body is going to do at all times, but we can choose to make deposits in the health bucket. I always think when I drive by there that even when I’m not motivated to be at the gym or I’m not motivated to eat right, I can make a deposit into my health bucket. You can choose to do that, too.
While it’s wonderful to get a certain physique, and I understand and can appreciate that, at the end of the day, it all comes down to your health. If you don’t have your health, you have nothing, right? So find something that will give you that subtle reminder, that kick to get you motivated when you’re not feeling motivated.
I’m thankful that this is right next to my gym, so I see it every single time I go. Maybe there’s a place by your work. And it doesn’t have to be something like this; just a subtle reminder that your health is important. And every time you eat well, every time you exercise, you’re putting a deposit in your health bucket.
